Clemson Track & Field Heads to Texas Relays, Spec Towns Invitational This Weekend

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson track & field program will once again split its teams this weekend for two separate meets, the 84th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, TX and the Spec Towns Invitational in Athens, GA. The action gets underway in Texas on Thursday with the preliminary rounds of the men’s and women’s 400 hurdles and continues on Friday and Saturday with sprints, hurdles, jumps and relays. The Spec Towns meet is set to begin Friday with field events only at 2:00 PM, and Saturday with track action beginning at 10:00 AM and field events at 11:00.

Jordan Rispress will compete in Thursday’s prelims on the men’s side. The 400 hurdle finals will be held Saturday morning.

Friday’s track action in Austin features preliminary rounds for the 100m dash, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. Clemson has four entries in the women’s 100 hurdles – Janice Jackson, Misha Morris are scheduled for the women’s dash.

Clemson will compete a trio of athletes in the horizontal jumps. Jasmine Brunson, Patricia Mamona and April Sinkler are scheduled for the A section of the long jump at 12:30 PM on Friday. Mamona and Sinkler will also compete in the top section of the triple jump on Saturday at 1:30 PM. Brunson is slated for the B section of the triple jump, which will be held Friday at 2:00 PM.

Saturday’s track action in Austin features finals for the 100m dash, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. Clemson will also field one men’s team and one women’s team in Saturday’s invitational 4x200m relays. The 4×2 is scheduled to begin at 12:35 PM.

Some of Clemson’s top men’s competitors over the weekend in Athens will be Danielle Curry (shot put, hammer throw), Lauren Terstappen (pole vault), Brittney Waller (discus throw, hammer throw) and Liane Weber (multi-events).
