Clemson to Start Play in the ACC Tournament

Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team will start play in the ACC Tournament on Friday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, NC.

Clemson, seeded fifth in the tournament, will play fourth-seeded Wake Forest in the Quarterfinal Round.

Clemson has a 24-9 record overall this season. The Tigers are ranked 27th as a team in the latest ITA poll.

The Tigers are led by ACC Player of the Year, Nathan Thompson. Thompson is ranked 22nd nationally in singles. He was also the ACC’s number-one singles flight champion. Thompson and Ryan Young were named the ACC’s number-one doubles flight champions.

Clemson lost to Wake Forest earlier this year, 5-2 in Winston-Salem, NC on March 30.

The Tigers have won 11 ACC Tournaments over the years. Clemson has been in the ACC Tournament Finals three times in the last four seasons.
