Clemson To Start Play In ACC Tournament Saturday Night

GREENSBORO, NC – The Clemson Lady Tiger basketball team will open play in the 25th Annual Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. vs. N.C. State at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC.

The Lady Tigers are seeded third in the ACC Tournament while the Wolfpack are seeded sixth. Clemson won both meetings between the two schools during the regular season. Clemson defeated the Wolfpack 62-51 at Clemson on January 24. The Lady Tigers defeated N.C. State 63-52 in Raleigh, NC on February 25. Clemson has a 17-10 record overall, and finished the season with a 9-7 mark vs. the ACC. N.C. State has a 13-14 record overall and finished the league with a 7-9 mark this season.

Clemson is led in scoring by Chrissy Floyd with a 17.4 ppg. average. Maggie Slosser leads the team in rebounding with a 5.2 rpg. mark.

Kaayla Chones leads the team in scoring (12.3 ppg.) and rebounding (7.0 rpg.) This will be the 62nd meeting between Clemson and N.C. State on the basketball court. N.C. State leads the overall series 37-24.

In 14 previous ACC Tournaments under Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis, the Lady Tigers have a 19-12 record. The Lady Tigers have advanced to 12 semifinal and five ACC Championship games during his tenure. His 19-12 (.686) record in the ACC Tournament is the third best winning pct. in ACC Tournament history. Clemson has won four of the last five games with N.C. State in the ACC Tournament.
