Clemson To Face 19th-Ranked Duke Friday Night in Durham

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team will play ACC foe and 19th-ranked Duke in Durham, NC Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

The Blue Devils and Tigers are meeting for the 49th time overall and the series is tied 22-22-4. The series began in the 1939 season.

Clemson is led in scoring by Nathan Thornton with four goals and one assist for nine points. The Tigers are 2-9-1 overall and 1-4 in the ACC. The Tigers’ lone win in the ACC came on the road against 11th-ranked Virginia.

Duke is 9-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in conference action. The Blue Devils are coming off of a 3-0 win over Navy on Tuesday evening and are 8-1 at home this season. The tandem of freshman Ryan Finley and junior Cole Grossman lead the offense with 17 points apiece.

The Tigers’ Tommy Drake own five points apiece. Clemson’s Joseph Bendik has played all but seven minutes in goal and sports a 1.40 goals against average, a .767 save percentage and one shutout. The Tigers are 1-3 this season away from home.
