Clemson To Compete in Isleworth Collegiate

Clemson, SC – Clemson will travel to the Isleworth Collegiate at Windemere, FL October 22-24. The event will be played at Isleworth Country Club and the event host will be the University of Central Florida.

The tournament will feature four of the top five teams in the nation. Oklahoma State, Florida and Georgia are ranked 1-3 and Clemson is ranked fifth. Georgia Tech (8), Texas A&M (9), Duke (11), North Carolina (14) and Wake Forest (19) are also in the field.

The Tigers will bring a lineup of one junior, a sophomore and three freshmen to Isleworth. A pair of freshmen are at the top of the Clemson lineup and scoring average stats so far this year. Red-shirt freshman Ben Martin has a 70.17 stroke average in two tournaments so far this year and will lead the Tigers. Kyle Stanley, a first-year freshman, has a 70.67 average and already has a pair of top 20 finishes.

Tanner Ervin, the veteran of the team in the junior class, has a 72.33 stroke average after his 217 finish at the Ping Preview. He is in his third year as a starter on the Tiger team. Phillip Mollica will also be in the lineup. The sophomore stands at 73.67 so far this year.

Sam Saunders, a first-year freshman who has experience as a youth playing the Isleworth Country Club course, will make his first appearance with the Clemson golf team.
