Clemson Team Safe in Spain

Clemson, S.C.—The following is a statement from the Clemson Athletic Department. The Clemson men’s basketball team has been in Barcelona, Spain since August 8 as part of a foreign tour.   A terrorist incident took place in Spain today and happened in close proximity to the hotel where the Clemson team is staying.

“We’ve been in contact with our men’s basketball program currently in Barcelona and the entire travel party is safe and secure. Their exhibition game for tonight has been cancelled and the team will return to Clemson as previously scheduled tomorrow morning. Our thoughts are with the people of Barcelona.”
