CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Charlottesville, VA to take on the University of Virginia on Sunday afternoon. The meet will be held at the UVA Aquatic & Fitness Center and is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
The Clemson men’s team is 6-3 overall (2-1 ACC) after dropping a 193-108 decision to the #14 Tar Heels last weekend. Against North Carolina, Craig Thomas won the one-meter diving competition and finished second in the three-meter. Mark Henly placed first in the 200 back and second in the 100 back to lead the Tigers.
The Tiger women’s team has a 6-5 record in dual meets and a 1-2 record in the ACC. Last weekend, Clemson fell to 11th-ranked North Carolina by a score of 214.5-85.5. The Tigers’ Elise Thieler won the 100 fly and finished second in the 50 free against the Tar Heels.
The Cavalier men’s team, currently ranked 9th by the College Swimming Coaches Association, is 4-1 in dual meets and 2-0 in the ACC. The Virginia men dropped a 126-117 decision to #11 Tennessee in their most recent competition. Virginia’s women’s team is 4-0 overall (2-0 ACC) and is ranked 12th in the CSCAA poll. The team most recently defeated N.C. State by a score of 153-87.
