Clemson Swimming And Diving Defeats NC State

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson swimming and diving teams wrapped up their home schedule with a win over ACC rival NC State University. The Tiger men improve to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the ACC while the women’s team improves to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the ACC.

The Clemson women’s team won eight of the 13 contested events, as they defeated the NC State women’s team 152-91. Jenna Burtch led the Tigers with wins in the 50 free (23.82) and 100 free (52.12) and Jenna Burtch won the 400 Free Relay in 3:31.23. Lindsey Kroeger claimed the 100 back with a time of 57.70.

On the men’s side, the Tigers claimed nine of 13 events as they defeated the Wolfpack 142.5-99.5. Like the women, the Clemson men swept the relay events as German Martinez, German Martinez tied for first in the 100 back with a time of 50.60.

The Tiger men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will next compete at the ACC Championships in Charlottesville, VA. The women’s championships will be held Feb. 15-17 while the men will compete Feb. 22-24.
