CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson swimming and diving teams competed at the Georgia Invitational held this weekend in Athens. It was the Tigers’ final meet before the holidays. Clemson will next compete against the University of Miami (FL) and Penn State on January 5, 2001. The women’s team finished second behind the host Bulldogs, posting four provisional qualifying times. One of those times was posted in the 200 medley relay as Clemson’s Nina Douglas, Mandy Commons, Mandy Commons set a provisional qualifying time of 1:02.52 in the 100 breast, finishing third in the event. The Clemson men finished the meet in sixth place, behind first-place Minnesota (1039) who edged the Bulldogs (1031) to take the title.
