Clemson Swimmer Mark Henly Named ACC Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson swimmer Mark Henly was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for the week of Jan. 19, 2004. Henly won three individual events and was a member of one first-place relay team to help lead the Tigers to a 150-150 tie against 22nd-ranked North Carolina on Sunday in Chapel Hill. This is the second time this season that Henly has garnered conference performer of the week honors.

Henly took first place in the 100 back (50.21), the 200 back (1:47.73) and the 200 IM (1:52.98) at the meet. He was a member of the Tigers’ winning 400 medley relay team, posting a 50.17 backstroke split time to lead off the event, to help Clemson finish in a tie with North Carolina. The tie was the fourth in Tiger men’s swimming and diving history, and the first since the 1968 season.
