Clemson Sweeps Florida State, 3-0, Remains Unbeaten In ACC Play

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team, ranked 13th nationally, defeated Florida State 3-0 (15-2, 15-5, 15-7) Friday night at Jervey Gym. The Tigers set a Clemson record, winning their 16th-straight match. Clemson outhit Florida State .400 to .042 and had 11 team blocks, 50 digs and 53 kills in the match.

Senior Cindy Stern hit .579 with 13 kills, two errors and 19 attempts, while senior Alison Coday had 13 kills, five errors and 26 attempts for a .308 attack percentage. Sophomore Jodi Steffes hit .556 with 11 kills, one error and 18 attempts. She had a career-high eight block assists.

Senior Emily Gorla had seven kills and ten digs in the win, while freshman setter Jessi Betcher recorded 40 assists, 15 digs and four kills in the win. Senior defensive specialist Heidi Cooper had eight digs, and junior Jackie Dalleska had three kills and four block assists. Freshman Mallory Benson had two kills and three block assists.

Clemson (16-0, 5-0 ACC) will face North Carolina Saturday at 5 p.m. in Jervey Gym, in a match that was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Florida State drops to 5-11, 0-5 ACC with the loss.
