Clemson Super Regional To Be Televised

ATLANTA, GA – CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast) announced today that it will broadcast the NCAA College Baseball Super Regional live from Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson, SC Friday, Saturday and Sunday, if necessary).

Broadcasts may be subject to local blackout within a 60-mile radius of the Clemson campus.

Clemson University (48-16) will play host to Mississippi State University (41-18), who last met in the 1991 NCAA Northeast Regional. Clemson holds a 5-3 advantage in the series dating back to 1968. This will be Mississippi State’s first game against the Tigers at Clemson.

CSS will provide live coverage of the best-of-three series, as follows: Game One: Friday June 2 at 7:00 PM Game Two: Saturday, June 3 at 7:00 PM Game Three: Sunday, June 4 at 2:00 PM (if necessary)

Note that Game One will be re-broadcast at 2:00 PM on June 3, Game Two will be re-broadcast on Sunday (time to be determined based upon necessity of Game 3), and Game Three (if necessary) will be re-broadcast at 7:30 PM on June 5.

The winner of each Super Regional (eight teams) will travel on to Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, NE to play for the 2000 College World Series (June 9-17). The most recent Collegiate Baseball Rankings (voting by coaches, sports writers and sports information directors), as of Monday, have Clemson ranked fifth and Mississippi State ranked 10th.

Tickets for the Super Regional are on sale now at the Clemson Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-CLEMSON or (864) 656-2118. Reserved Super Regional Passes are $30, while adult single game tickets are $10 and student single game tickets are $7.

CSS, a partnership between Comcast Corporation and Charter Communications, is a 24-hour regional sports network currently available to over 1.5 million cable subscribers in the Southeast. The coverage area extends from the Florida panhandle north to Louisville, Kentucky and from Charleston, South Carolina west to Little Rock, Arkansas.
