Clemson Stands In Third Place At End Of First Day Of Competition At ACC Meet

TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Clemson men’s track and field team stands in third place with 19 points after the first day of competition at the 2005 ACC Track and Field Championships. The Tigers’ Danny Alge, Brandon Holmes and Matt Clark posted fourth-place finishes to lead Clemson on day one.

Danny Alge and Brandon Holmes (Woodruff, SC) brought home another fourth-place finish in the javelin throw with his career-best mark of 187’11″/57.29m. Brent Hobbs and Kyle Shaw also scored for the Tigers in the javelin throw, finishing seventh and eighth. Hobbs recorded a mark of 178’4″/54.37m and Shaw posted a mark of 172’5″/52.56m.

In the final event of the night for the Tigers, Greg Isaacs crossed the finish line in 30:56.77 to finish ninth in the 25-lap event.

Brent Hobbs and Kyle Shaw were forced to withdraw from competition due to injury.
