CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s soccer team is set to launch its 2025 campaign with a road test against No. 18 Ohio State on Thursday, August 14. The match will take place at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action live on B1G+ and follow real-time stats at ClemsonTigers.com.

Head Coach Eddie Radwanski, entering his 15th season, sees the season opener as a valuable early challenge.

“It’s the beginning of the season, so it’s always a great opportunity,” said Radwanski. “We know we are playing a very good team. Ohio State’s teams are always competitive and always at NCAA tournaments. One of the biggest reasons why we scheduled this game was to be tested.”

Radwanski also sits one win away from his 150th career victory at Clemson.

Returning Starters

The Tigers return the following eight players who started 10 or more games last season:

  • Forward, Maria Manousos, Sr. (16 games)
  • Midfielder, Kendall Bodak, So. (15 games)
  • Defender, Mackenzie Duff, Gr. (14 games)
  • Midfielder, Emily Brough, Sr. (14 games)
  • Midfielder, Anna Castenfelt, So. (13 games)
  • Midfielder, Christian Brathwaite, Jr. (12 games)
  • Goalkeeper, Nona Reason, R-Jr (11 games)
  • Midfielder, Dani Davis, Jr. (10 games)

When speaking about this group, Radwanski rhetorically asked, “Do the experienced players use their experience? We’re about to find out. Everybody starts with a fresh plate, the canvas is empty. Now we get the first stroke of the brush on Thursday.”

New Recruits

Clemson reeled in 11 signees during the 2024-25 recruiting cycle, earning the No. 2 ranked class according to TopDrawerSoccer. The entire class is listed below:

  • Midfielder, Carla Small (IMG Academy, No. 8 ranked prospect)
  • Forward, Juju Harris (Florida United, No. 9 ranked prospect)
  • Defender, Reese Klein (Florida United SC, No. 11 ranked prospect)
  • Midfielder, Neely Kerr (Tophat SC, No. 23 ranked prospect)
  • Defender, Jolie Jenkins (VDA, No. 26 ranked prospect)
  • Defender, Maddie Costello (SUSA FC Academy, No. 50 ranked prospect)
  • Defender, Elle Bissinger (Carolina Elite Soccer Academy, No. 97 ranked prospect)
  • Forward, Alessandra Washington (Concorde Fire SC, No. 140 ranked prospect)
  • Goalkeeper, Madeline Parrott (Scorpions SC, No. 168 ranked prospect)
  • Forward, Natalie Brooks (Concorde Fire SC)
  • Midfielder/Forward, Taylor Leib (Alabama FC) *2024-25 Alabama Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of the Year*

The veteran leadership will be key as Clemson integrates a highly decorated recruiting class. “I think there’s a number of freshmen who can make an impact,” said Radwanski. “They’re all very good, talented players. I think collectively this group is going to make a very good contribution to our team.”

When talking about the success of the previous recruiting cycle, Radwanski credits a couple key factors stating, “our success and branding help us in recruiting. We’ve been able to raise our talent level, but more attention has been attracted to us. The work that was put in by the staff to secure this class is worthy of the group we brought in.”

Coaching Staff Addition

Radwanski and longtime staff members Jeff Robbins and Siri Mullinix (both also entering their 15th season) welcome a new coaching staff member, Maryanne Kilgore. “You’re never going to do anything great by yourself,” Radwanski reflected. “To be on this journey together has been fantastic. Maryanne’s transition has been great — she brings a lot of good energy, is an up-and-coming young coach who has a great career in front of her and is one of the highest-quality people out there.”

With a healthy blend of experienced returners, highly touted recruiting class and a staff with what appears to be limitless support, the Tigers are primed for the first match of the 2025 season.
