CLEMSON, S.C. – Several members of Clemson’s men’s and women’s track and field teams posted qualifying times for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Perry Fields, Jamine Moton and Jacey Harper each met qualifying standards for inclusion in the Championships Wednesday at the Nike Fast Times Meet in Gainesville, Fla.
Fields, a Lady Tiger from Columbia, SC, finished third in the one-mile run with an automatic qualifying time of 4:43.26. That time is an improvement of six seconds under her previous season-best time of 4:49.31 at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet.
Moton, a junior on the women’s track and field team from Glassboro, NJ, posted another provisional qualifying mark in the shot put. Her mark of 52’1″ was the best at the meet, and her seventh qualifying mark of the season.
Mandy McLane, a senior Lady Tiger from Windermere, FL, competed in the pole vault. She finished fifth overall with a mark of 12’1 1/4″.
Harper, a sophomore on the men’s track and field team from Edinburgh, Trinidad, met qualifying standards in the 55m dash and the 200m dash. He finished second in the 55m with a provisional qualifying time of 6.26. His second-place time of 21.21 in the 200m dash was also a provisional qualifying time.
