Clemson Reading FAQ

Is there an age limit for kids to be in the reading program?

Yes, the Clemson Reading Program is available for kids who are in the 6th grade and younger.

Is there a limit to the number of books that my child can submit to their book library?

There is a limit on the number of books they can submit per day. You can only record two books per day (max of 14 per week), other than that there is no limit on the total number of books they can read.

How do I earn more tickets?

We offer one free ticket to each of our ticketed sports, except football, through this reading program.  Every 500 points will unlock another ticket!

How do I redeem my child’s tickets?

Once your child has read 5 books and has a total of 500 points they automatically unlock their first ticket.  You will then add it to your cart in the prize store and will receive a promo code for the ticket via e-mail.

What are the points for?

Along with earning tickets, your child can also redeem their points for Clemson prizes. These prizes are available in the “prize store” tab and must be picked up at select Clemson events.

If I spend my points in the prize store can I still unlock a ticket?

Yes! Your ticket will be unlocked once you reach 500 points, regardless if you spend those points.

How many points do I get for reading a book?

Each book read is worth 100 points.

When is the deadline to redeem points for prizes?

You can redeem your points for prizes until May 31st.

What is the smartphone app called and is it free to download?

The smartphone app is called the “Clemson Reading Program” and is available for FREE on the Apple App Store!

Do points roll over to the next year?

No, all points will be reset on May 31st of each year.

What if my ISBN number isn’t working?

Send us an e-mail at CURead@Clemson.edu with the book name and ISBN! We have a big book library, but some books are still being added. If your child’s book isn’t populating please let us know!

What if my book doesn’t have an ISBN number?

Try to look up the book online using Amazon Books. Once you find the book you are looking for, copy the ISBN number and paste it into the Book Library! If this doesn’t work send us an e-mail at CURead@Clemson.edu.

Why doesn’t my child have any points after we enter books into the book library?

Be sure you add books to your child’s book library. Before you enter books be sure your child’s name is shown on the left corner of the screen (not the parent’s name).  If the parent’s name is shown click the “Switch User” button and then click the child’s name.

Do I need to make multiple accounts for all of my children?

No, you don’t. Each of your children can have their own profile in one parent account. Just click “Add a Child” on the home page.
