CLEMSON, SC-Two Clemson players are ranked in the Mideast Region Rankings as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Nathan Thompson, a junior, is ranked third in the region, while Jarmaine Jenkins, a sophomore, is ranked 13th. As a doubles team the pair is ranked third.
The Mideast Region consists of teams from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Maryland and members of the ACC from the other states.
Clemson will begin the 2004 season on January 10-12 at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, FL.
Clemson will return five starters from last year’s team that finished 25-11 last year and ranked 27th nationally in the final poll. The Tigers lost in the NCAA second round to number one ranked Illinois last season.
The Tigers’ Head Coach Chuck Kriese will begin his 29th season at Clemson. He has compiled a 565-356 record in 28 years at the school.
