CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams’ Clemson diving team has been named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for the sixth consecutive semester. The College Swimming Coaches Association of America announced the list of academic award winners on Tuesday. The Tigers recorded a 3.48 cumulative team grade point average for the spring semester of 2015 in order to earn the distinction.
“I could not be more proud of this team for its continued excellence in the classroom,” said Adams. “These ladies place great value on the educational experience they are provided at Clemson University. They work very hard to achieve their academic goals, along with the support of the staff at Vickery Hall, and in particular, our academic advisor, Ginty Porter. I am pleased to see their efforts recognized with this prestigious award.”
Clemson recorded the third-highest cumulative team GPA for the semester among all Atlantic Coast Conference women’s swimming and diving teams, with only Miami and Louisville finishing ahead of the Tigers. All 13 women’s programs from the conference earned the CSCAA’s academic accolade, which is presented each fall and spring semester to college and university swimming and diving teams that achieve a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Earlier this year, Adams’ team was recognized for its APR score, which ranked among the top 10 percent of all FBS programs nationally. In addition, 10 Tigers were named to the Honor Roll and three earned perfect 4.0 GPAs for the Spring 2015 semester, while rising sophomore Allison Brophy and rising junior Sarah Braun were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for 2014-15.
