Clemson Men’s Track And Field To Compete In Illini Invitational

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s track and field team will travel to Champaign, IL, to compete in the Illini Invitational to be held this weekend on the campus of the University of Illinois. The Tigers will face teams from California-Berkeley, Western Illinois, Illinois State and Illinois. Twenty-seven Tigers will compete in 15 events this weekend.

On the track, Michael Bolling, Airese Currie, Tye Hill and Ronald Richards will represent Clemson in the 60m dash, and Roy Cheney, Rashad Gardner, Brent Hobbs, Ryan Koontz and Lydell Perry will compete in the 60m hurdles. Currie, Griffin, Hill, George Kitchens, Perry and Richards will also contest the 200m dash, while Bolling, Cheney, Warren Eure, Gardner, Hobbs and Koontz also take to the track for the 400m dash. Clay Pendleton and Ahmad Rutherford will compete in the 800m run, and Clark and Pendleton will double up for the mile run. Ryan Fenton, Sean Reilly and Derrick Wyatt will represent the Tigers in the 3000m run. The Tigers will also field distance medley relay and 4x400m relay teams.

In the field events, George Kitchens and Ben Daniels, Hobbs, Koontz, Adam Linkenauger and McDaniel. Hobbs, Adam Klotzbach and Koontz will also contest the pole vault.
