Clemson Men’s Track And Field To Compete At Georgia Tech Invitational

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s track and field team will compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational this Thursday through Saturday, May 16-18, at the George C. Griffin Track in Atlanta. The Tigers will begin competition at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday with the decathlon. Friday’s events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with day two of the decathlon. Friday’s meet continues at 7:00 p.m. with the men’s javelin and is scheduled to conclude at 9:10 p.m. with the men’s 5000m run. The meet will resume Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the hammer throw and conclude after the men’s 4x400m relay at 9:30 p.m.

The Clemson men’s track and field team has eight athletes who have qualified either individually or as a member of the 4x100m or 4x400m relay teams. Red-shirt freshman Airese Currie (Columbia, SC), sophomore Larry Griffin (Greenville, SC), junior Otto Spain (Columbia, SC) and junior Jacey Harper (Edinburgh, Trinidad) comprise the Tigers’ 4x100m relay team that has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships. Harper, Thomas, Spain and Modibo are the Tigers’ top 4x400m relay team that has posted a provisional time of 3:05.86 already this season. Rick Hill, a sophomore decathlete from Chapel Hill, NC, will also compete this weekend as he looks to better his provisional qualifying score of 7,165 points.
