Clemson Men’s Track And Field To Compete At Alex Wilson Invitational And Cyclone Qualifier

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s track and field team will split up to travel to last chance meets in South Bend, IN, and Ames, IA this weekend. The Tiger sprinters and high jumper will compete at the Iowa State Cyclone National Track and Field Qualifier, while the Clemson middle distance and distance runners will compete at Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational.

On Friday, Itay Magidi will take to the track in the 5000m at 7:30 PM at Notre Dame. The Tigers’ distance medley relay team will also compete Friday night, as Mike Barton, Garrick Copes, Marcus Hodge and Scott Shaw compete at 8:15 PM. The Alex Wilson Invitational continues on Saturday with the 800m, featuring Clemson’s Hodge and Copes. Shaw and Barton will contest the mile run at 3:40 PM to conclude the meet for the Tigers.

The Tigers’ competition at the Cyclone Qualifier begins Saturday at 11:35 PM with Roy Cheney in the 60m hurdles preliminaries. Clemson’s competition at the meet continues at noon with Michael Bolling, Cheney and Harper will take to the track at 3:35 PM. The finals of the 60m hurdles are slated for 3:50 PM, and the finals of the 60m dash at 4:00 PM will conclude the meet.
