Clemson Men’s Track And Field Team Competes At Spec Towns Invitational

ATHENS, GA – The Clemson men’s track and field team concluded competition at the Spec Towns Invitational on Saturday with 13 season-best performances. Saturday’s meet at the University of Georgia was the Tigers’ final tune-up prior to the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held Apr. 16-17 in Chapel Hill, NC.

On the track, Robert Ibeh led the Tigers in the 100m dash with his fourth-place finish and time of 10.82. Ibeh was also the top collegiate finisher in the 200m dash with a season-best time of 21.48. Marquis Andrews placed fourth among collegiate runners with a time of 21.59, another season-best. Warren Eure and Ahmad Rutherford clocked a 1:53.75, a season-best effort, to place sixth in the field. Sean Reilly posted a season-best 3:59.35 to place third among collegiate athletes. Eric Soder’s season-best time of 14:58.91 in the 5000m was good for fourth place, and Greg Isaac also recorded a season-best effort in the event (15:16.59). Roy Cheney was a regional qualifier in the 110m hurdles with a season-best time of 14.17, and Roy Cheney rounded out the top five with a time of 53.03. In the 3000m steeplechase, David Smith completed the race in 9:41.75 to place seventh.

Jason Bell was the only field event athlete to compete for Clemson on Saturday. Bell placed fourth among collegiate competition in the triple jump, posting a mark of 48’0.75″.
