Clemson Men’s Track And Field In Fourth Place After Day One Of ACC Championships

CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Clemson men’s track and field team is fourth after day one of the 2002 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships with 21 points. North Carolina leads the league with 27 points, Georgia Tech is second (26) and NC State is third with 25 points.

The Tigers qualified 13 individuals for the finals to be held on day two. Michael Bolling, Derrick Wyatt and Mike Barton were third in a season-best time of 10:02.57.

In other day one finals, George Kitchens finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 23’4.5″, and Terrance Huey was 11th in the event with a mark of 21’21.25″. Matt Lombardi set a season-best mark of 51’9″ in the shot put to finish sixth, and Colt Hodge was 10th with a season-best mark of 46’11.75″.
