Clemson Men’s Track And Field 4xMile Relay Team Sets School Record At Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Clemson men’s track and field team concluded competition at the 2003 Penn Relays on Saturday as the Tigers’ 4xMile relay team set a school record. Michael Barton, Itay Magidi and Jason Meany broke the previous record of 17:04.60 set in 1982, with a record-time of 16:48.71 at Franklin Field. The former record was set by Clemson’s team of Kirk, Haughey, Borghans and Coddington at the Domino’s Classic in Tallahassee, FL.

In other action on Saturday, Clemson’s 4x100m relay team finished sixth in the collegiate finals with a time of 10.92. Michael Bolling, Rashad Gardner and Roy Cheney competed in the 400m hurdles. Bolling recorded a time of 52.43, Cheney finished in 54.85 and Gardner posted a 55.43. Terrance McDaniel cleared 6’9.5″ in the high jump to place sixth in the collegiate championships.
