Clemson Men’s Tennis Receives NCAA Tournament Bid

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson men’s tennis team received a NCAA Tournament Bid as announced by the NCAA Thursday afternoon.

The Clemson men’s team will play Miami (FL) at Baton Rouge, LA on May 13. The winner of this match faces the winner of the LSU-Alcorn State match on May 14.

Clemson has a 17-16 record overall, while Miami (FL) has a 19-4 record overall. Clemson defeated the Hurricanes 4-3 on April 14, at Clemson, SC. A total of 64 teams are invited to the NCAA Tournament.

This will be the 18th time Clemson has been to the NCAA Tournament since the format was changed to a team format in 1977.

Clemson’s Josh Goffi was selected to the NCAA’s Singles Tournament to be played May 24-28 at Athens, GA. Goffi has a 21-14 record this season in singles play. This tournament consists of the top 64 singles players in the nation. The Tigers’ doubles team of Goffi and Darren Knight was selected to play in the NCAA Doubles Tournament. Knight and Goffi has a 27-13 record as a doubles team this season. This tournament has the nation’s top 32 doubles team competing for the national title.
