Clemson Men’s Tennis Defeats Miami 5-2 on Senior Day

Clemson, SC — The 66th-ranked Clemson Men’s Tennis team defeated future Atlantic Coast Conference opponent No. 40 Miami by a score of 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. Seniors Damiisa Robinson, and Goran Sterijovski each played their final regular season matches for the Tigers.

Clemson began the match with a lead in the doubles series as Miami forfeited at the number three doubles position. The Tigers earned the doubles point as 32nd-ranked Damiisa Robinson and John Boetsch fell to Jeremiah Fuller and John Hoyes 8-6.

Clemson then took advantage of the shorthanded Hurricanes as the Tigers extended their lead to 3-0 as Miami defaulted in numbers five and six singles. Clemson wrapped up the match as Goran Sterijovski fell to Purcell 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at number two singles to bring the final tally to 5-2.

With the win, Clemson improves to 21-10 on the season, 4-4 in ACC play. The Tigers return to action next weekend at the ACC Championships. Clemson, the number five seed, will face off against fourth-seeded Georgia Tech in the first round.
