Clemson, SC — The Clemson Men’s Tennis team defeated Liberty 7-0 on Friday night at Sloan Tennis Center. Earlier in the evening, the Tigers downed Anderson college 6-0.
Clemson opened the match by sweeping the doubles point as Goran Sterijovski and Ryan Young won 8-4 at the number one doubles over Luiz Rino and Priit Pihl. At the number two position, Brett Twente were victorious over Braen Anerios and Kenan Bell 8-2. Ash Misquith and Ian Keeler completed the sweep in doubles play as they defeated Ernesto Malagrino and Joel Moylan 8-6 at number three doubles.
In singles action, the Tigers took five of the six matches in straight sets. Clement Reix was able to withstand a late charge by Malagrino and hold on for the 6-0, 0-6, 7-6 victory.
With the win, Clemson improves to 5-1 on the season. The Tigers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to face Toledo and Ohio State.
