Clemson Men’s Tennis Blanks Anderson College 6-0

Clemson, SC — The 24th-ranked Clemson Men’s Tennis team defeated Anderson College 6-0 on Friday night at Hoke A. Sloan Tennis Center. Because both teams were playing two matches, the coaches agreed to not play doubles, and only compete in the six singles matches.

Brett Twente easily defeated Raul Luna 6-2, 6-2 to open the match at the number five position. Clement Reix and Ryan Young downed Carlos Sanches 6-1, 6-2.

The match of the night was at the number three position, where Ash Misquith battled back from a set down and endured seven deuce points to break Sid Sudhakar in the second set, before cruising to the 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 victory.

With the match well in hand for the Tigers, Gabor Boczonadi retired to Goran Sterijovski at number one singles, with Sterijovski up one set and leading 3-2 in the second set.

With the win, Clemson improves to 4-1 on the season. The Tigers return to action later this evening as they play host to Liberty.
