CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s swimming team will travel to the 2010 ACC Championships at Koury Natatorium in Chapel Hill, NC February 24-27. The events will begin with the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay taking place on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively. Then Thursday-Saturday will have preliminaries at 11:00 a.m. and finals at 7:00 p.m. The finals will be broadcast on theACC.com through their Championship Site.
The men finished the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and 1-4 in the conference. They will look to improve on their ninth place finish from last season.
Clemson senior Thomas Recko will be a strong competitor for the Tigers as he is currently ranked second in the 200 backstroke in the ACC. He finished second in this event at the ACC Championships a season ago. Recko will also compete in the 100 back where he is eighth in the ACC.
Freshman Eric Bruck will be competing in the 50 free, where he is ranked third in the ACC. Sophomore Chris Dart could also score for the Tigers, as he is ranked sixth in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 IM in the ACC this season.
The Tigers’ 200 freestyle relay group of Eric Bruck, Myles Oliver, Seth Broster and Chris Dart currently ranks third in the ACC and the 400 free relay group of Seth Broster, Myles Oliver, Chris Reinke and Chris Dart is fourth with a NCAA B time of 3:00.80.
The men’s diving has already competed and their scores will be added to the men’s swimming scores.
