Quick Notes Tuesday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between Clemson and North Florida. The two schools have had one common opponent so far this season in Savannah State. Clemson defeated Savannah State 81-49, while North Florida lost by a score of 75-60 in their season opener.
The Tigers entered the national polls (#25 AP, #25 ESPN/USA Today) on Monday for the first time this season. It marks the third straight year Clemson has been ranked in the top 25, only the second time in school history that has happened.
Clemson is 10-0 for the fourth consecutive season. The Tigers were the first team in the NCAA to reach 10 wins on the season. BYU, Oklahoma, and Pittsburgh are also 10-0 coming off the weekend.
The Tigers are #1 in the latest RPI figures, according to both RealTimeRPI.com and WarrenNolan.com. Seven of Clemson’s wins have come against teams in the top 100 of the RPI, and three have come against top-30 teams.
Clemson has compiled a record of 40-4 against non-conference opponents over the past three seasons. The Tigers were 18-1 out of conference in 2006-07 and 12-3 last season.
K.C. Rivers has been a part of 78 wins with the Tiger basketball program, just seven shy of establishing a new standard at Clemson. Elden Campbell and Cliff Hammonds both played in 84 victories, which is the current record for a Clemson player.
Rivers ranks 12th in Clemson history with 1,373 points scored in his career. He also needs just 11 rebounds to become the 20th player in school history with 600 in a career.
Terrence Oglesby has made at least one threepoint goal in 18 straight games, tied for the longest active streak in the ACC with Wayne Ellington of North Carolina. Oglesby needs just 16 points to reach 500 for his career.
Trevor Booker ranks first in the ACC in blocks per game (2.4) and is second in field goal percentage (59.4). He needs just two points Tuesday for 900 in his career.
Demontez Stitt, the starting point guard for the Tigers, is shooting 60 percent from the field through the first 10 games of the season. His play has been a big reason the Tigers are shooting 50.8 percent as a team, a figure that ranks ninth-best in the NCAA this season.
Andre Young leads Clemson in assist-to-turnover ratio with a 5-to-1 figure. He has just one turnover in the past five games and has played 71 minutes during that stretch.
The Tigers have shot over 50 percent from the field in five consecutive games.
