Clemson Notes:

  • The Clemson women’s tennis team travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 12 p.m. in their first conference road match of the season.
  • The Tigers are coming off a 5-2 victory over Virginia Tech in their ACC opener on Feb. 8 at home in Clemson, S.C.
  • Against the Hokies, the Tigers won the doubles point, and senior Fernanda Navarro, junior Sydney Riley and sophomores Alex Angyalosy and Laura Marti won their respective singles matches.
  • Navarro is ranked 64th nationally in the ITA singles poll, and has a 5-1 record in dual singles matches on the season.
  • On Jan. 31, Navarro earned her career-best singles upset, defeating 25th-ranked Paige Cline of South Carolina in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
  • Navarro and fellow senior Marie-Alexandre Leduc are ranked second in the nation as a doubles team. The pair is 6-1 in dual matches and has a 18-4 overall record thus far in 2018-19, which includes winning the National Championship doubles title at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships to conclude the Fall 2018 season.
