Clemson Invitational Meet Information

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson is ranked in the top 15 in the Southeast Region for men’s and women’s cross country, according to polls released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).  The women’s team is ranked fourth in the preseason, the same spot the Tigers finished last fall.  It was the program’s best in nearly 20 years.  The Tiger men are 14th in the preseason poll. The Clemson Invitational will be held Friday, August 31 on campus amidst the school’s athletic facilities.  The women’s 5K race is slated to start at 6:00 PM, followed by the men’s 5K at approximately 6:40.  The public will be able to park in Jervey Meadows, which is designated as Lot 4 on football gamedays.  It is the grassy area beyond the outfield of Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The 5K course, new for the Tiger program this fall, will start atop the dike of Lake Hartwell on Friday.  The first mile of the course will run atop the dike, before heading down into the trails located between the golf and rowing facilities.  The competitors will then loop the intramural rugby fields before returning through the trails and into the finish area on the golf practice range.
