Clemson in 15th at Mason Rudolph Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team sits in 15TH place after two rounds at the Mason Rudolph Invitational in Franklin, Tenn.  In Saturday’s second round, the Tigers shot 15-over par for a team score of 303.

Four of the six Tigers competing had even or better rounds than Friday’s opening round. Sophomore Jessica Hoang, playing in the five spot, led the Tigers with a two-over par round of 74. Freshman Riley Lovorn shot a three-over par 75, improving five shots from her first round.

Sophomore Sloan Shanahan followed Lovorn with a 76 while redshirt sophomore Lauren Salazar shot a 78. Freshman Marisa Messana shot an 80 and her score did not count towards the team score. McKenzie Talbert, competing as an individual, shot an 80 as well.

Host school Vanderbilt leads the tournament after a second round team score of five-under par. The Commodores hold a six shot lead over LSU.  

The three-day, 54 hole event at the Vanderbilt Legends Club concludes tomorrow. Clemson will play with Tulane and Vanderbilt’s B team, teeing off on the 10th tee from 8:35-9:15 AM.
