Clemson Hosts Winthrop in Doubleheader Friday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team is at home on Friday when Winthrop comes for a doubleheader. The Tigers face Winthrop at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. The second match will be played at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Facility. Clemson split their two matches this past Sunday. The Tigers dropped a tough match against Auburn, losing 4-3, coming down to the final match. Clemson then came back strong against Gardner-Webb for their second match of the day, blanking the Bulldogs, 7-0. Luke Johnson, Alex Favrot and Daffra Sanon each went 2-0 in singles play for the weekend, helping pace the Tigers.

Scouting Winthrop: Winthrop men’s tennis team is 4-2 on the season, most recently beating University of North Carolina Greensboro this past weekend, 6-1. Clemson and Winthrop will be meeting for the 5^th time in history on Friday, Clemson leads the series 4-0 all time, with the most recent meeting coming last year in a 7-0 win by the Tigers.
