At Sunday’s game, Clemson women’s basketball will be honoring the most decorated player in program history, Barbara Kennedy-Dixon.

  • Barbara will be honored at halftime, and all former Clemson women’s basketball players will be invited to join her on the court
  • BKD replica jersey t-shirts will be distributed to the first 400 fans
  • A Pledge It campaign will be set up in the Burton Gallery, where fans can make a donation per made free throw to raise money to help fight lung cancer

Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (11-6, 0-4 ACC) is coming off of a 68-56 loss on the road at Wake Forest on Thursday, Jan. 12. Freshman Kobi Thornton led the Tigers with a career-high 18 points in the contest.
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads Clemson in scoring (14.5 ppg), assists (3.4 apg) and minutes played (31.5 mpg). Perry’s scoring average is ranked in a tie for 11th among Atlantic Coast Conference players.
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier leads the team in rebounding (7.6 rpg) and is second in scoring at 10.7 ppg. Collier is shooting .561 (64-for-114) from field goal range, a figure that is seventh among conference players. Her rebounding numbers are also among the best in the ACC, as she ranks eighth in rebounds per game (7.6) and 10th in defensive rebounds per game (4.9).
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has started all 17 games for the Tigers at the point guard position and is third on the team in scoring at 10.4 ppg. She leads the team in steals (2.2 spg), a figure which is tied for eighth in the ACC. Edwards’ .839 free throw percentage (47-for-56) is seventh in the conference.
  • Thornton is averaging 8.0 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. Her scoring average is seventh among freshmen in the ACC, while her rebounding average is fourth-best among rookies in the conference.
  • The Tigers finished nonconference play with an 11-2 record, the program’s best non-conference record since the 2003-04 season.
  • Before falling to No. 25 Oregon on Dec. 12, Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the program’s best start since the 1998-99 season. 

Series Information:

  • The series between Clemson and Florida State has been very close overall, with the Seminoles holding a narrow lead with a 26-24 record all-time.
  • The Seminoles won the most recent meeting between the two teams, a 75-56 victory on Feb. 7, 2016 in Tallahassee. Danielle Edwards scored 14 points in the contest for Clemson.
