Clemson, S.C. – Clemson women’s basketball heads to The Salt City for a clash with Syracuse on Sunday, Feb. 15. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m., and the game will stream live on ACCNX.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Tigers have won five of their last six games and are looking for their third straight win. The Orange have captured four of their last five contests and are on their hunt for their second straight win.

THE CLEMSON-SYRACUSE SERIES
Clemson trails 13-2 in the all-time series with Syracuse. The pairings between the Tigers and the Orange span back to the 2010-11 season. In the last clash, Clemson fell to Syracuse, 67-55 (Jan. 26, 2025)

A WIN WOULD MEAN

  • If Clemson reaches 10 conference wins, it will be the first time in 25 Years (2000-01) that Clemson has recorded 10 conference wins in a season.
  • A win would be the Tigers’ first road win at Syracuse in program history.
  • A win would be Clemson’s third Quad One victory of the season.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior guard Mia Moore (31 points) reset her career-high to lead Clemson over Georgia Tech in a double overtime thriller on Thursday night in Littlejohn Coliseum. Moore’s back-to-back 30-point performances are the first time that a Clemson Player has scored 30-plus points in back-to-back wins since Barbara Kennedy Dixon did so during the 1981-82 season.

In the latest Nitty Gritties Report, Clemson is ranked 39th in the NET, 53rd in the NET SOS, and 41st in the WAB. Clemson is ranked 36th nationally (2nd in the ACC) in scoring defense, allowing 57.7 points per game, and 30th nationally (1st in the ACC) in 3-pointers per game (8.5 3FG Per Game). In 16 games this season, Clemson has held its opponent to under 60 points. The Tigers are led by the scoring duo of senior guard Mia Moore (12.8 ppg.) and junior guard/ forward Rusne Augustinaite (11.8 ppg.). Augustinaite is also averaging 2.7 3PM Per Game (3rd in the ACC) and her 70 3PM Ranks 27th Nationally. Moore holds a team-best 4.8 assists average (42nd nationally & 5th in the ACC) and a 1.2 steals average. Graduate Forward Demeara Hinds (6.7 rpg.) leads the Tigers on the glass. Senior guard/forward Hadley Periman is the squad’s leading shot blocker (1.16 bpg.) (16th in the ACC).

CLEMSON WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH SHAWN POPPIE SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION
Clemson women’s basketball Head Coach Shawn Poppie has signed a contract extension through the 2030-31 season, announced by Athletic Director Graham Neff. The Board of Trustees compensation committee approved the action on Friday morning (Feb. 6)

“I’m incredibly grateful to Clemson University and Graham Neff for their Commitment to me, my staff and our entire Clemson women’s basketball program,” said coach Poppie. “We’re proud to represent the Paw and to make Clemson University proud in everything we do, both on the court and in the community. We’re thrilled to continue building something special here at Clemson!”

CLEMSON’S BARBARA KENNEDY-DIXON NAMED TO 2026 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME CLASS
Barbara Kennedy-Dixon has been named to The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (WBHOF) Class of 2026 as a posthumous veteran honoree. To this day, Kennedy-Dixon leads Clemson & The ACC in Career Points (3,113) and scoring average (24.5). She is one of just eight players with at least 3,000 points and 1,000 rebounds since the NCAA started sponsoring women’s sports in 1981-82 (Barbara’s senior year). The Tennessee Theatre will host the induction ceremony on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

TIGERS INK MONSTER SIGNING CLASS: HIGHEST EVER IN PROGRAM HISTORY!
The incoming 2026 class is the highest-ranked signing class in program history and ranks fourth nationally (per 247 Sports) and sixth nationally (per ESPN). Coach Poppie, who is in his second year at the helm, has signed six Top-100 recruits in two years. Prior to the Poppie Era at Clemson, the program has only had six Top-100 recruits in the previous 12 years.

The Class includes: Trinity Jones, Kimora Fields, Julia Scott, Meeyah Green, and Dyarri Braddick.
