Clemson Heads To Tennessee For Final Spring Contests

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Fresh off a pair of victories last weekend in Jervey Gym, the Tigers prepare for their final road trip of the spring as four teams await them in Knoxville, Tennessee. Clemson will square off with Tennessee, Belmont, East Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech on Saturday in the Cronan Volleyball Center.

The first match of the day for the Tigers begins at 11:00 a.m., against Tennessee Tech with East Tennessee State awaiting them at 1:00 p.m. ETSU is Clemson’s only familiar opponent this weekend as they saw each other last season on the first day of the Clemson Classic. The Tigers fought for a four-set victory and went on to sweep the day and eventually the tournament with a win over Presbyterian that night and a win over USC Upstate the next day.

After ETSU, Clemson will take on Tennessee at 2:00 p.m. This weekend’s SEC host finished with a 21-12 record last season and a 7-11 record in a conference that sent three teams to the NCAA tournament last season. The Tigers will then finish the day with an NCAA Tournament team in Belmont at 3:00 p.m. The Bruins fell in the first round of the tournament last season in four sets, taking one against the ACC Champion, Louisville.
