Clemson, S.C. – Clemson women’s basketball heads to the West Coast, where the Tigers will conclude the regular season at Cal. (Thursday, Feb. 26 at 10 p.m. EST, ACCNX) and at Stanford (Sunday, Mar. 1 at 2 p.m. EST, CW).
SETTING THE STAGEThe Tigers enter Thursday coming off one of the biggest upsets in program history, taking down No. 9/13 Duke. Cal is coming off a road loss to Miami and now returns home looking for a bounce-back win.
THE CLEMSON-CAL SERIESClemson trails the all-time series against Cal, 2-1. The pairings between the Tigers and the Golden Bears span back to the 1980-81 season. In the last clash, Clemson topped Cal., 69-58 (Jan. 2, 2025).
A WIN WOULD MEAN
LAST TIME OUTClemson pulled off the upset over No. 9/13 Duke, 53-51 at Littlejohn Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. (Feb. 22) A Hannah Kohn three-pointer gave the Tigers a 53-51 lead with 3.1 seconds remaining. On the ensuing inbound play, Taylor Johnson-Matthews tipped the pass to run out the clock and give Duke its first ACC loss of the season.
BEST OF THE TIGERSIn the latest Nitty Gritties Report, Clemson is ranked 37th in the NET, 50th in the NET SOS, and 40th in the WAB. Clemson is ranked 37th nationally (2nd in the ACC) in scoring defense, allowing 57.9 points per game, and 32nd nationally (1st in the ACC) in 3-pointers per game (8.4 3FG Per Game). In 17 games this season, Clemson has held its opponent to under 60 points. The Tigers are led by the scoring duo of senior guard Mia Moore (12.9 ppg.) and junior guard/forward Rusne Augustinaite (11.4 ppg.). Augustinaite is also averaging 2.6 3PM Per Game (3rd in the ACC) and her 72 3PM Ranks 36th Nationally. Moore holds a team-best 4.9 assists average (41st nationally & 5th in the ACC) and a 1.3 steals average. Graduate Forward Demeara Hinds (6.5 rpg.) leads the Tigers on the glass.

CLEMSON WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH SHAWN POPPIE SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSIONClemson women’s basketball Head Coach Shawn Poppie has signed a contract extension through the 2030-31 season, announced by Athletic Director Graham Neff. The Board of Trustees compensation committee approved the action on Friday morning (Feb. 6).
“I’m incredibly grateful to Clemson University and Graham Neff for their Commitment to me, my staff and our entire Clemson women’s basketball program,” said coach Poppie. “We’re proud to represent the Paw and to make Clemson University proud in everything we do, both on the court and in the community. We’re thrilled to continue building something special here at Clemson!”
CLEMSON’S BARBARA KENNEDY-DIXON NAMED TO 2026 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME CLASSBarbara Kennedy-Dixon has been named to The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (WBHOF) Class of 2026 as a posthumous veteran honoree. To this day, Kennedy-Dixon leads Clemson & The ACC in Career Points (3,113) and scoring average (24.5). She is one of just eight players with at least 3,000 points and 1,000 rebounds since the NCAA started sponsoring women’s sports in 1981-82 (Barbara’s senior year). The Tennessee Theatre will host the induction ceremony on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
TIGERS INK MONSTER SIGNING CLASS: HIGHEST EVER IN PROGRAM HISTORY!The incoming 2026 class is the highest-ranked signing class in program history and ranks fourth nationally (per 247 Sports) and sixth nationally (per ESPN). Coach Poppie, who is in his second year at the helm, has signed six Top-100 recruits in two years. Prior to the Poppie Era at Clemson, the program has only had six Top-100 recruits in the previous 12 years.
The Class includes: Trinity Jones, Kimora Fields, Julia Scott, Meeyah Green, and Dyarri Braddick.
