Clemson Has Eight Total Entries Qualify for Nationals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On the final day of competition at the NCAA East Regional Meet, Lashanna Graham qualified for NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 400 meter hurdles. In total, the men will send six entries to NCAA Outdoor Championships while the women will send two. Nationals will take place in Austin, Texas from June 7-10.

Clemson Women’s Nationals Entries

  • Lashanna Graham, 400 Meter Hurdles
  • Marie Forbes, Hammer Throw



  • Lashanna Graham ran a 57.55 in the 400 meter hurdles to qualify on time for Nationals. Her personal best is 56.54, which was 16th in the nation entering the weekend.
  • The women’s 4×400 meter relay of KK Gadson, Lashanna Graham, Kenya Thompson and Courtney Williams ran a 3:25.98. The group finished 13th, just 0.54 seconds short of a spot at NCAA Championships.


  • The 4×100 meter relay team of Giano Roberts, Cameron Rose, Guinove Joanus and Wanya McCoy advanced to nationals by finishing second in their heat with a time of 39.36 seconds.
  • Giano Roberts qualified for Nationals in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.49. Last season, he finished fourth at outdoor nationals in the event. As a member of the 4×100 meter relay as well, he will compete in two events in Austin.
  • Tarees Rhoden earned a spot at Nationals in the 800 meter run. He finished second in his heat with a time of 1:49.70.
  • Cameron Rose advanced to Nationals with a 20.35 in the 200 meter dash. He also qualified as a member of the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays, so he will compete in three events in Austin.
  • The 4×400 meter relay team of Tarees Rhoden, D’Andre Anderson, Cameron Rose and Aman Thornton qualified for Nationals with a time of 3:07.43.


  • Marie Forbes advanced to Nationals in the hammer throw with a mark of 64.47 meters. That was good for seventh in the field of 48.
  • Danielle Sloley threw an outdoor personal best 16.57 meters in the shot put. That mark is No. 3 in school history and was No. 15 in the field.
  • Brynne Sumner advanced to the quarterfinals in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:06.63. That time was third in her heat and earned her automatic qualification.
  • Lashanna Graham ran a 57.70 in the 400 meter hurdles to advance to quarterfinals. Her time was 10th best in the field of 48.


  • Ethan Cocco shattered his personal best by five meters to set the school record in the javelin throw with a mark of 70.64 meters. Despite entering the meet with the No. 36 mark in the region, Cocco’s school record was the 12th best throw and was just enough to qualify for nationals. He was the only athlete from the first or second flight to punch his ticket to Austin. All three of his attempts would have been personal bests entering Wednesday.
  • Giano Roberts advanced in the 110 meter hurdles by running a 13.59, good for second best in his heat and 11th best overall. He’ll compete for the right to go to Nationals on Friday at 6:15 p.m.
  • Wanya McCoy advanced in the 100 meter dash by setting a personal best time of 10.10 seconds. That time is good for No. 6 in school history. He also advanced to the quarterfinals of the 200 meter dash with a wind-aided time of 20.27.
  • D’Andre Anderson advanced to quarterfinals of the 400 meter dash with a time of 46.45. That was the 16th best time in the field.
  • Tarees Rhoden had the best time in the 800 meter run qualifiers (1:48.00) to advance to quarterfinals.
  • Aman Thornton finished in the top-3 of his heat to advance to the 800 meter run quarterfinals with a time of 1:49.13. That was the 10th best time in the field of 48.
  • Cameron Rose finished in the top-3 of his heat in the 200 meter dash with a time of 20.62. He will compete in the quarterfinals of the event on Friday alongside McCoy.
  • Daniel Cope threw a personal best 64.86 meters to improve upon his school record in the hammer throw. He finished 13th in the field despite coming into the meet as the 26th seed.
