Clemson Finishes 23rd in the Final ITA Men’s Tennis Poll

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team finished the season ranked 23rd in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll released Friday.

The Tigers finished the 2007 poll with a 31-10 record overall. The 31 victories this season is tied for the second most victories in a single season. Clemson was eliminated in the NCAA Tournament’s second round as Wake Forest defeated Clemson 4-3 in Winston-Salem, NC on May 12.

The Tigers were led in victories by freshman Carlos Alvarez with a 36-10 record overall in singles. Another freshman Rok Bizjak had a 33-6 mark in singles play. The doubles team of Clement Reix and Ryan Young has a 26-11 record to lead the team. Reix and Young are both seniors. Jarmaine Jenkins another senior, had a 26-13 record overall in singles.

This is the 16th season that the Tigers have finished in the top 25 in the program’s history.
