Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (14-11, 3-9 ACC) is coming off of a 54-46 road win at Pittsburgh on Feb. 9. Junior Nelly Perry (16) and freshman Jaia Alexander (10) were in double figures in scoring for the Tigers, while sophomore Aliyah Collier grabbed 14 rebounds in the win.
  • The Tigers have won three of their last four ACC contests and won its first ACC road contest with the win at Pittsburgh on Feb. 9.
  • Junior Ivy Atkism was recently named to the 2017 All-State WBCA Good Works Team, which rewards student-athletes for community service. She is the first Clemson basketball player, male or female, to earn the honor.
  • Perry leads the Tigers in scoring (12.2 ppg) and assists (2.9 apg).
  • Collier has become a double-double machine this season, recording her eighth of the season (27 points, 14 reb) in a win over North Carolina on Feb. 5. She is averaging a near double-double in ACC play (10.5 ppg, 9.8 rpg), and ranks sixth in the ACC in rebounding at 8.4 rpg.
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has started every game for the Tigers at the point guard position and is third on the team in scoring at 9.6 ppg. She leads the team in steals (1.9 spg).
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads the Tigers in scoring (11.9 ppg) and assists (3.0 apg).
  • Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the program’s best start since the 1998-99 season. The Tigers entered ACC play with an 11-2 record, the program’s best nonconference record since the 2003-04 season. 

Series Information:

  • Miami has a 9-6 all-time advantage in the series against Clemson.
  • Last season, the Hurricanes defeated the Tigers 83-49 on Jan. 10, 2016 at Jervey Gym in Clemson. Nelly Perry had 14 points in the contest, and Aliyah Collier added eight points and eight rebounds.

News
