CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams released the Clemson diving team’s 2014-15 meet schedule Wednesday afternoon. The schedule features 11 regular season meets, including two meets at home at McHugh Natatorium.
The team opens the season on Oct. 10 at McHugh Natatorium with a diving exhibition. Similar to last season’s event, the unofficial meet will give the divers a chance to practice a few optional dives and entertain fans in attendance.
The season officially begins on Nov. 1 when the Tigers compete against Duke, NC State and Richmond in Greensboro, N.C. The meet in Greensboro kicks off a stretch of 10 consecutive competitions on the road, which include invitationals at Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Notre Dame, as well as a dual meet at South Carolina on Jan. 23.
The Tigers return home on Feb. 7 to face College of Charleston in their regular season finale. The team’s three seniors – Jessica Doolittle, Chelsea Uranaka and Emily Yoder – will be recognized during the meet.
The postseason begins with a trip to Atlanta, Ga. for the ACC Championships on Feb. 18-21. The NCAA Zone B Diving Championships take place in Athens, Ga. March 9-11, followed by the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C. March 19-21.
Officially beginning their third season as a program, the Tigers look to build off of last season’s successes. In addition to the senior class, sophomores Danielle Reitsma and Sarah Braun highlight the team’s returnees. Reitsma finished 10th in the platform event at last season’s ACC Championships, while Braun was close behind with a 14th-place finish in the same event. Reitsma also boasted a 17th-place finish in the one-meter event at the conference meet last season.
