COLUMBIA, SC–Clemson defeated South Carolina 6-1 in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Columbia, SC Wednesday afternoon. Because of inclement weather, the match was moved indoors.
The Tigers, ranked 20th nationally won five singles matches in straight sets including Jarmaine Jenkins 7-5, 6-2 win over Yevgeny Supeko of South Carolina at number one singles.
The Tigers are now 25-8 overall this season. This marked the 10th time under Head Coach Chuck Kriese that the Tigers have won 25 or more matches in a single season. Kriese is in his 32nd year of being the Head Coach of the Tigers. Clemson has won 25 or more matches in four of the last five seasons.
Clemson will play St. Johns and Boston College in Boston, MA on Friday, April 13. The Tigers will play Georgetown and Maryland on Sunday, April 15.
