Clemson Defeats Duke 5-2 in ACC Men’s Tennis

CLEMSON, SC–Clemson won five of the six singles matches as the Tigers defeated 17th-ranked Duke 5-2 in a men’s Atlantic Coast Conference tennis match at Clemson, SC Saturday afternoon.

With the win, Clemson improves to 19-5 on the season, 2-2 in the ACC. Duke falls to 7-6 overall, and 0-1 in league play.

Clemson will play host to 14th-ranked North Carolina Sunday afternoon (March 25) at 2:30 p.m. in the Tigers’ next action at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.

After losing the doubles point, Clemson came back and won five of the six singles matches including the number one match as the Tigers’ Clement Reix defeated Joey Atas in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. Jarmaine Jenkins won his match at number two singles for the Tigers as he defeated Peter Rodrigues of Duke 7-5, 5-7, 7-6.
