Clemson Defeats Boston College 4-0 in the ACC Tournament

CARY, NC – Clemson defeated Boston College 4-0 in the first round of the ACC Men’s Tennis Tournament at Cary, NC Thursday.

Clemson won its 30th match of the season today. The 2007 team is the fourth team in Clemson history to win 30 or more matches in a single season. The 1986 team is the last Tiger team to win 30 or more matches in a single season. The Tigers are ranked 22nd in this week’s ITA poll.

The Tigers’ Carlos Alvarez won his 35th match of the season in singles as he defeated Alex Rastorgouev of Boston College 6-1, 6-1.

Clemson the fifth seed in the tournament will play fourth-seeded Wake Forest on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the semifinals of the tournament.
