Clemson defeats Arizona State 5-2

TEMPE, AZ–Clemson won its 13th match in a row and 17th overall this season with a 5-2 win over Arizona State Monday.

Clemson improves to 17-2 on the year. Going into the match, Clemson was ranked 15th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll. Arizona State falls to 6-7 on the year.

Clemson won the doubles point, as Jarmaine Jenkins and Clement Reix won at number one doubles with a 8-6 win over Ryan McBride and Jonathan Kinsella.

At number two doubles, Clemson’s Sander Koning and Brett Twente defeated Mike Beatty and T.J. Bellama 8-5

Koning defeated Kinsella at number one singles 6-3, 7-6. Reix recorded a victory over McBride who retired with an injury at number two singles.
