Clemson Baseball Adds Junior College Transfer

Jan. 14, 2000

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson Head Coach Jack Leggett announced the addition of infielder Ryan Riley to the Tiger baseball program on Friday. Ryan is a mid-season transfer from Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, Washington, where he was an all-conference selection in 1999.

Riley, a 5-10, 188-pounder from Seattle, Washington, played at Edmonds in ’99 and Division II Lewis-Clark State in ’98. He hit .383 with 15 stolen bases at Edmonds and .370 with 15 doubles with Lewis-Clark State of Lewiston, ID.

Riley will have two years of eligibility left and is slated to contend for the starting second base spot in 2000. He was a teammate of fellow Tiger newcomer Nick Glaser at Edmonds, and his coach at Edmonds was current Tiger assistant coach Hank King, who begins his first season at Clemson as well.
