On Friday, April 6, members of the Clemson Athletic Department, both students and faculty, volunteered to help Clemson University Libraries move boxes in preparation for the relocation of its offsite storage center to the Advanced Materials Center on campus. While the student-athletes are regularly recognized for their commitment to service and involvement in the community, the Clemson Athletics administration plays their part as well.
Ranging from Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips and Vickery Hall academic advisor Reggie Simpkins, to eight members of the Tiger men’s swimming and diving team, Clemson University Libraries had a nearly thirty volunteers. Kay Wall, Dean of Libraries, expressed her sincere appreciation for the members of Athletics who volunteered.
“The enthusiastic group literally moved mountains (of paper), and we are thrilled to be ready for the next phase of the relocation, thanks to Athletics.”
Clemson Athletics places a large importance on service and outreach, from facility tours to school assemblies, and this event truly demonstrated the commitment from everyone.
