Clemson Athletic Department to Upgrade Memorial Stadium with Daktronics Integrated Video, Scoring and Sound System

BROOKINGS, SD – Daktronics Inc. of Brookings, SD in conjunction with the Clemson University Athletic Department are pleased to announce the upcoming addition of an integrated video, scoring and sound system for Memorial Stadium. The new state-of-the-art light emitting diode (LED) system will be installed prior to the 2012 college football season.

Incorporated into the existing east end zone structure, Daktronics will install a large video display measuring approximately 25 feet tall by 61 feet wide. Utilizing the latest in LED technology, the video board will offer superb clarity and contrast of video images, excellent viewing angles and the ability to operate as a single giant display or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animation and live and recorded video.

Located in the corners of the WestZone Club, Daktronics will provide additional video boards. Each measuring approximately 19 feet tall by 31 feet wide, these boards will ensure every fan throughout the stadium will have a crisp view of the action on the field.

A custom Daktronics sound system will be integrated with the video and scoring system. The system will provide full-range sound reproduction and deliver clear and intelligible speech while delivering pounding bass energy, smooth mid and high range frequencies and high impact entertainment.

Daktronics will also install an additional 730 feet of LED ribbon board mounted to the sideline fascia on the north and south stands of Memorial Stadium. These displays will integrate seamlessly with existing ribbon board technology already in the stadium while providing game information, real-time statistics, animation and sponsor logos to raise the crowd’s interest and enthusiasm level. These displays can be used in a variety of creative ways to recognize and active sponsors.

Memorial Stadium will see the addition of over 4,700 square feet of LED digital signage bringing the overall total to over 6,000 square feet of Daktronics signage throughout Death Valley.

Clemson Athletics will relocate the existing LED video display from Memorial Stadium to be used at Doug Kingsmore Stadium (baseball) and Historic Riggs Field (soccer). At Doug Kingsmore Stadium, the video display will replace one of the first ever LED video installations provided by a LED manufacturer which was done in 1997.

Daktronics will also provide new LED video screens to the current centerhung display at Littlejohn Coliseum, home to Clemson basketball.

Also included in the project is Daktronics new Show Control system to be featured at each venue.
