Clemson 15th at Mason Rudolph

Clemson, S.C.—Clemson’s women’s golf team finished in 15th place at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.  It was the second tournament of in an eight-day period to open the season for J.T. Horton’s Tigers.  Clemson finished with a score of 916 at the 15-team event. Sloan Shanahan was Clemson’s top player on Sunday and for the event with a 225 score for her 54 holes, good enough for 31st place individually.  She had scores of 75-76-74 over the three-day event.   She had 14 pars on Sunday, tied for third in the field of 81 golfers. Lauren Salazar was Clemson’s second best golfer over the weekend with a 227 score for the three days, good enough for 39th place.  She had the top score among the Lady Tigers for the weekend with an even par 72 on Friday, her first round.  She finished with rounds of 78-77 the final two days. Jessica Hoang, Clemson’s  top golfer at the season opening Cougar Classic last weekend, finished with a 232 score, 16-over-par, third among Tigers.  The native of North Augusta had rounds of 82-74-76.   Freshman Marisa Messana had a 239 score for the three days, while classmate Riley Lovorn shot a 240. Clemson’s next action will be October 4-6 at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla. Mason Rudolph ChampionshipSeptember 19-21, 2014Vanderbilt Legends ClubFranklin, Tenn 1.
